Undesirable opinion that caused the end point of a TV host career
Melitina Stanyuta, a famous Belarusian gymnast and multiple winner of the European and World Championships, emotionally reacted on her Instagram to the detention of people waiting in line near the shop Symbal.by on June, 23. Afterwards, she found out that ONT forced to cancel her TV Show.
SPORT.TUT.BY talked to Melitina and ONT Press Service.
On June, 24 Melitina wrote on Instagram ‘If citizens of a democratic country don’t break the law, they are under protection! So, what was that yesterday? If you’re staying in line to a shop, you’ll be taken to a prison truck! Where is that law that protects us!!!’
Lately, Melitina decided to shoot new episodes for her sports rubric, but the show editor told her there would probably be a break till September without explaining a reason. As a matter of fact, she’s not fired! She’s still a full-time employee.”
Melitina doesn’t want to discuss whether it’s connected with her post or not.
According to her she saw a video where ordinary people were brutally detained in line! She was pitiful to them and couldn’t sleep. She wasn’t thinking about the consequences of her post.
Irina Rombalskaya, ONT spokesperson, commented the following. ‘Unfortunately, Melitina Stanyuta violated corporate ethics, agreed with her in 2018. Thus, her involvement in the sports rubric was temporarily suspended. Perhaps, she’ll be back soon as a TV host. This is a temporary measure’.
Concerning the question whether corporate ethics violations are related to the recent Melitina Stanyuta’s publication on Instagram, Irina commented the following. ‘It’s beyond my responsibility to discuss and announce the corporate ethics that were agreed with her. I’m sure Melitina knows her violations because she was agreeable to certain rules’.
