On the 11th of November, Roman Bondarenko was beaten near his house, then he was taken to the Police Station and after he fell into a coma. Last night he died. Roman was 31 years old.

At about 10 p.m. on November 11th, ten unknown people came to the Square of Changes to remove white red white ribbons. Roman Bondarenko tried to save the ribbons. He asked unknown people why they came and what they were going to do. After this they started beating him.

He was all beaten up but conscious when unknown threw him into a minibus and left the square.
At the police station Roman stayed for 1.5 h.
At midnight he was delivered to Minsk City Emergency Hospital.

He had significant brain swelling, closed head trauma, subdural hematoma, hematoma of different body parts, bruises, traces of blood and vomit on the face, jawbone dislocation.

Roman was delivered to the hospital in critical condition. An emergency surgery was carried out. The next morning there was doctors’ consilium to save Roman’s life. The prognosis was not good. Roman was delivered to the hospital too late. He was between life and death.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya expressed her condolences to his family:

“Roman Bondarenko was killed by accomplices of the regime. He became an innocent victim of an inhuman system that considers our lives as nothing. We all understand that any of us could be at his place. We are not going to forgive this murder. Roman Bondarenko’s name will be added as a name of a Hero into the New History of Belarus.”

The Press secretary for the Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Chemodanova said that some people used non state symbols to express their political views. Those citizens displayed those symbols on autos, buildings etc. thus they broke public order.

“We clean up the city of such as you,” told the unmarked man.

This story shows once again how cruel Lukashenko’s regime is. The Belarusian people will never forgive and forget all the crimes of the bloody dictator.

The team of the Voices from Belarus expresses our deep condolences to Roman Bondarenko’s family and friends.
