Dentists are dangerous for the authorities as well.
Dr. Oksana Moroz spent 8 hours in the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs yesterday.
Hello, my friends!
I am still out, even though I spent 8 hours in the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs yesterday. They picked up doctors from the protest action at Hospital #1, which had not even started. The “catchers” outnumbered the doctors. They simply packed everyone who was at the main building near the hospital. We did not resist — so we were not beaten or dragged by the legs. The young riot policeman, who detained me, clearly wanted to let me go. He was leading me from bus to bus, and they were full and he said: “If the last one is full, you quietly leave.” But in the last bus, there were incredibly fucking “gallant” riot policemen, and they said: “We will move.” So, we were “packed” — 4 more doctors. The local therapist started telling them that our rights were being violated during the arrest, which infuriated the driver. He started shouting at us, doctors, adults with higher education, that we were sheep, who were controlled by the Internet and we were being paid. We asked if he was afraid of getting sick, and we would treat him, which he regarded as a threat. Then he burst out and yelled: “I receive medical help from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and if I come to you, scums, you will service me! You, bitches, do not go to Euroopt, you do not respect OMON!” Then I could not resist and asked: “Why should we?!” Then he yelled: “Shut up, or I’ll mark you with paint!”
By this time, they took us to the paddy wagons and started to overload us there, putting us in cages. The three of us were put in one compartment and there was no more space, but they began to shove another girl. I said, “Unluckily for you- we’re all fat and won’t fit!” But they pushed the girl in and she rode all the way on my knees. We drove for a long time. A girl in the next cage tried to sing. She was ordered to shut up in a rude way.
When we arrived at the place, they told us to unload quickly and drove us into the garage. They ordered: “Face to the wall, hands to the wall!” I asked, “Are we dangerous criminals to stand like this?! I prefer to face danger.” And I turned around right in front of the man, who told us to stand in that way, and looked him in the eyes. He asked: “So you faced and what’s then?” I replied: “You look like a quite intelligent person. We are here too, all doctors with higher education, not bandits, not extremists, so let’s respect each other.” He left, everyone turned around and did not turn us back to the wall again.
Then they “hustled” us, took away and inventoried belongings, phones, money, and took away the LACES. Then they drew up protocols, took pictures. I got the impression that the police officers were somewhere even ashamed to do this — they understand that their actions now are total lawlessness. They treated us politely and even somewhere with sympathy — they gave us water and some food, Adaptol (sedative tablets) from the volunteers. I said: “Addicts with withdrawal symptoms, come here!” We were all supporting each other, joking, sharing stories from our lives. Then almost all the men and 3 women were taken to Okrestina (detention centre in Minsk) — the principle of victim selection was not clear.
Then they started calling us to sign a delusional protocol, in which everyone had it written that we were participating in an unauthorized event with prohibited paraphernalia, shouting anti-government slogans, disturbing passers-by and other nonsense. To my indignation that this is complete nonsense, the “comrade” advised me to write: “I strongly disagree.”
Then they started releasing us one by one, without any warning. I am proud to spend the holiday in such a wonderful company of my colleagues! I wish I had a cellphone with me to capture those moments or at least a pen to exchange contacts.
Today I come to my senses and have a rest. But I’m not broken! I am still against lies and violence!
Long live Belarus!
